Project Description
Traveling by bus is usually not a very pleasant experience in
Lahore. Still, you can enjoy some pleasant moments while waiting
for the bus, provided that the bus stop in question is well
maintained. Bus stops enhance passenger safety in a number of
ways. They prevent passengers trying to board in hazardous situations
such as intersections, or where bus is turning and is not using
the curb lane. As a bus driver cannot be expected to keep a
look out for intending passengers for the whole of the journey,
bus stops serve as mandatory points for boarding and reduce
boarding time.
Observations show that waiting can be unpleasant and uncomfortable
for various reasons; benches are in a dilapidated state or shortage
of benches creates chaos and dispute among passengers. Sometimes
there is no separate section for women, which makes them uncomfortable.
This project aims at improving the condition of a few select
bus stands that require immediate attention in Lahore in the
areas of Faisal Town, Walton road , Raiwind Road and Davis road.
Necessary renovation which include painting and repairing the
benches and the shades, placing new benches and dust bins where
required; ensuring that there is a separate stand for women
so they can wait for the bus comfortably. Moreover, posters
containing information regarding discipline and cordial behavior
towards fellow passengers would also be displayed on the stand.
Objective
Our objective is to improve the condition of the chosen bus
stands so that people can comfortably wait for the bus.

Market
Bus stops on Raiwind Road, Faisal Town, Walton road, Iqbal town
and Davis road.
