Project Description
Our project HELPING HANDS is all about how we help the community
by fulfilling their needs. The Community Aid Pakistan (Com Aid)
is an initiative of Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS),
Lahore students to support the community. The primary objective
of ComAid is to generate support and assistance to schools in
low income neighborhoods and rural areas. Schools are basic
asset of our society but unfortunately some of the under privileged
areas are not provided with proper schools and schooling system.
The reasons behind choosing this project is helping these schools
and solving their major issues.
Government Girls Primary School has a total population of 109
students. It is actually a coeducation institution. This school
consists of two classrooms with broken furniture and walls with
chipped off paint. There is no electricity and no provision
of pure water, the teachers are not even qualified enough to
teach the students. There is no proper play ground as well.
Due to shortage of furniture, children sit on the floor in extreme
cold in winter and intense heat in summer. The walls are either
not painted or the paint has chipped off and makes the classrooms
look very shabby. The black boards are unfinished and broken.
Children have no toys or swings. The boundary walls are broken
which allows small children to get out of the school very easily
although it should not be permitted for their safety. There
is no proper cafeteria over there.
This group will provide the school with water coolers, emergency
lights, toys, proper furniture, repair blackboards and will
get walls painted. They will also help the school administration
in developing a small library as well.
Objective
To upgrade the underprivileged school and help in creating a
better learning better environment.
