Project Description:
“Divisional
Model School”, Main Rajababad, Badian Road; Lahore,
is almost in shambles. This school is from Playgroup to Matriculation
and has more than 300 students. It was observed that most of
the class rooms lack basic facilities such as benches, fans,
furniture and black boards. The school building requires repairs
and white wash. There is no arrangement for providing students
with clean cold drinking water. The water cooler is not functional.
The current condition of the school needs immediate attention.
Due to scarcity of resources, the school management is unable
to meet the cost of up gradation. Almost all classrooms require
renovation. Along with wall paint, purchase and repair of furniture
is a major task for upgrading of facilities. Blackboards, clocks
and fans need to be placed in classrooms. Water cooler and water
purifier will be provided. Students come from very poor backgrounds
and they are quite unaware of the importance of cleanliness.
Our volunteers will arrange a seminar for the students on cleanliness
and health.
Objective:
Providing
respectable and a better learning environment to needy students.
Besides shortage of funds, we feel many students leave studies
in their early years as the infrastructure is not attractive
and comfortable.
